MY FRIEND II
My Friend was born in the project “LA JUGUETERÍA”, where the toy was the concept major. Under this premise, the reflection of knowing who we are and what we play arises being adults; What a toy is and what it can be used for? How much time we will last or be useful in our game? Are animals toys? Is love a game?
Through its phallic or dildo shape, My Friend combines the idea of the dog as men best friend and the concept of sexuality, so linked to life. It is a small sculpture made of bronze available in two finishes that communicate different senses. The Patine, a used piece through times that is reminiscent of an archaeological find; and, a polished piece in gold, unused, as an element to idolize.
In this second version (My Friend II), the dog appears sitting, almost at rest, waiting for his owner's command. While that in the first version (My Friend) the animal was presented in a tense position, ready for action.
